Looking to stay hot in conference play, Ball State softball (21-10, 3-1 MAC) headed out for its second conference road match of the season against Akron (1-24, 0-4 MAC). The Zips kept the game close on the mound, but the Cardinals managed to walk away with a 5-2 win.

Splitting a doubleheader yesterday, Ball State softball (20-10, 2-1 MAC) finished out its weekend series against Bowling Green (17-12, 1-2 MAC) with a 12-0 win. Junior Aeshia Miles proved to be clutch once again, allowing four hits over the course of the game and striking out three along the way.

After a 12-game stretch last week, Ball State softball (16-9, 0-0 MAC) wasted no time getting back on the road as it headed south for the Belmont/Tennessee State Tournament in Nashville. This was the Cardinals' final tournament of the season before jumping into conference play.

Opening spring break with a 2-3 campaign in the Citrus Classic II in Kissimmee, Ball State softball (15-8, 0-0 MAC) dove deeper into its spring break schedule with a mid-week matchup against Virginia Tech (11-12, 1-2 ACC) and UCF (15-8, 0-0 American) before it closed the week in the FAU Parents' Weekend Tournament.

Coming off a successful finish at the ECU Pirate Invitational, Ball State softball (9-3, 0-0 MAC) will head into a 12-game stretch over spring break, playing in the Citrus Classic II and the FAU Parents’ weekend tournament. The team will also face Virginia Tech and UCF in two non-tournament games.

Ball State softball's bats have been alive so far this season. This past weekend, the team went 4-1 and totaled 25 runs while only allowing 11. A main reason for the Cardinal's success this season can be credited to sophomore Haley Dominique, who has been named Mid-American Conference West Softball Player of the Week.
