The Ball State University Department of Theatre and Dance is staging The SpongeBob Musical at University Theatre April 1 at 7:30 p.m. and April 2 at 2:30 p.m. The show is directed by Andy Waldron and Anne Beck, choreographed by Anne Beck, and musical direction by Jay Schwandt. After four days and nights away from Indiana, traveling to Ohio to cover Ball State Men's and Women's Basketball's MAC Tournament contests in Cleveland, the Daily News Sports crew returned to the Crossroads of America on the fifth and final day of their trip. Waking up and checking out of the hotel was just the beginning of what was a fitting ending to an unforgettable experience.
Day three of the Daily News Sports team’s trip to Cleveland saw the start of the Men’s Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament. First, the day began with a split breakfast run. One group ate at Starbucks, while the others went to a unique, two-story McDonalds.

Though it didn’t go exactly to plan, with the scheduled “Special Shape Hot Air Balloon Glow Show” being canceled due to weather, Fire Up DWNTWN took over Walnut Street and the rest of downtown Muncie, Indiana, August 6, 2022. Hot air balloons still briefly took the skies, local businesses set up shop under tents, food trucks lined the street and countless other events ran from 1-10 p.m., prompting Muncie’s community to show out in full form.
As a part of Kia of Muncie and Toyota of Muncie's Tent Sale, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan signed autographs from 2-4 p.m. July 22, 2022. A food truck, local radio station 104.1WLBC and more were present during said autograph signing that saw fans stretch from nearly one end of the Scheumann Stadium parking lot to the other.

June 18, 2022, from 3-9 p.m. at McCulloch Park in Muncie, Indiana, a Juneteenth celebration was held. Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and is celebrated June 19, among other days.
June 6 in Worthen Arena in Muncie, Indiana, Muncie Central High School (MCHS) held their graduation, honoring the 2022 class graduates.
On Memorial Day, the Ball State Daily News remembers those who lost their lives while serving to protect the freedom and safety of United States citizens.
Hosted by the Office of Inclusive Excellence, Bluesfest showcased the work of seven blues artists from across the country. The festival aimed at highlighting black excellence, exposing Muncie to a genre of music otherwise lacking, and stimulating growth between Ball State and the community of Muncie.
Local company, Munsee Meats, provides Muncie with locally raised beef, where photo-journalist Rylan Capper took photos. With a cattle farm, slaughter facility and meat packaging facility in central Indiana, Munsee Meats provides its community with an alternative to the grocery store deli case.
