History once again came full-circle, as Jan. 20 marked the annual Midwest Antique Fruit Jar and Bottle Club Convention. Collectors from all across the country loaded their prized possessions and token finds to display and sell in Muncie, Indiana. The Ball Mason Jar was patented in 1884 by the Ball Brothers, 34 years before they founded Ball State University.

White and Rymer’s Bushido Karate instructors train numerous students who need not just instruction on how to defend themselves but help navigating their own life. Then came Darius Rucker, and for at least 20 years, he was among the few non-white artists. According to a SongData study, 2.3% of ACM Awards and 1.6% of CMA Awards nominees between 2000 and 2019 were people of color.

While every city might have a Walmart and a Taco Bell, not every city has the following places that make Muncie what it is: home.
