The Ball State Soccer (5-3-1, MAC 1-1-1) continued conference play with a defeat against Kent State (5-5-1, MAC 1-2-0) Friday night at Dix Stadium in Kent, Ohio. The Cardinals find themselves losing back to back conference games for the first time since 2014.

The Golden Flashes had trouble finding the back of the net for 83 minutes of the game before a Cameron Shedenhelm deflected shot found the back of the net. That would be the only goal of the game as the Golden Flashes would sneak away with a win, 1-0.

Despite conceding, senior goalkeeper Tristan Stuteville had four saves of the Golden Flashes 14 shots.

The Cardinals had limited opportunities in the opponents final third with only two shots from the team. One each from senior midfielder Paula Guerreo and junior midfielder Julia Elvbo.

The Golden Flashes were relentless in their attack play with 14 total shots and five of them on target. The Golden Flashes also had six corner kicks, comparing to the Cardinal’s four.

The Cardinals will stay in Ohio as they continue MAC play against Ohio on Sunday at 1 P.M.
