Women's volleyball defeats Navy in straight-sets

The Ball State women's volleyball team kicked off the Ball State Tournament this morning with a straight set victory over Navy (4-1). 

The Cardinals (3-1) won the first set 25-7, the second 25-18 and the third 27-15. 

Ball State had 49 kills on the match, compared to Navy’s 30. Junior outside attacker Brooklyn Goodsel led the Cardinals with 18 kills.

Both teams were locked in a see-saw battle in the third set before Ball State pulled ahead for good, with the set finishing 27-25. Leading players in the match were junior outside hitter Ellie Dunn with 12 kills, and sophomore setter Amber Seamen with 32 assists. 

The Cardinals will return to the court this evening at 7:30 to play Bradley University at Worthen Arena.
