Muncie woman arrested for check fraud at Ball State Credit Union

A Muncie woman was arrested July 20 for check fraud.

Gabrielle Clark, 23, presented nine fraudulent checks to the Ball State Federal Credit Union, located on the 2900 block of N. Oakwood Ave. from June 26 through July 8, according to the probable cause affidavit.

When police asked Clark about attempting to cash a series of $1,400 checks, Clark said "That was a shot in the dark."

She later admitted to the Ball State University police that she was borrowing the money from a male to pay someone.

Clark was charged with eight counts of check fraud, a Level 6 felony.

She was booked into the Delaware County Jail and is being held there on a $4,000 cash bond.
